Which Bushing Kit For My Car?

July 7, 2016

This is a question we get often, and one that is not always easy to answer.  With all the idiosyncrasies that Honda has baked into our beloved Civic and Integra, combined with our mod-happy community, it's tough to say for sure which bushings you need when you 17+ year old suspension decides to give up the ghost.

That's why PIC chose to pair up with Suja1 Motoring when we developed these HRB kits years ago, taking advantage of their expert knowledge of these cars.  Being a small company, we couldn't possibly make a kit for every combination of Civic and Integra out there.  Here are bushings that we know are similar and different between the various MY's and chassis (all USDM chassis.  Canada, your Si-R = USA Si).

Front Upper Control Arm Bushing
1.  88-91 Civic and 90-93 Integra models used the same size.  (Wagon fitment not confirmed)

2.  All 92-95 Civic / Del Sol models used the same size, except for the Si model (including the Del Sol).

3.  All 94-01 Integra models, as well as 92-95 Civic / Del Sol Si models, used the same size.

4.  All 96-00 Civic models, including the Si, used the same size.

Front Lower Control Arm Subframe Bushing
1.  Every Civic from 88-00 and Integra from 90-01 used the same size, except for the 96-00 Civic Si.

2.  The 96-00 Civic Si had a stamped front lower control arm that had a specific mushroom-shaped bushing that is not compatible with any other chassis.

Front Lower Control Arm Shock Mount Bushing

1.  All 88-91 Civic and 90-93 Integra models used the same size.  (Again, Wagon fitment not confirmed)

2.  All 92-95 Civic models and 94-01 Integra models used the same size.

3.  All 96-00 Civic models used the same size.

Front Lower Control Arm Compensator / Compliance Bushing

1.  For the 88-91 Civics, this would be the radius rod bushing.

2.  All 92-95 Civic models and 94-01 Integra models used the same size.

Rear Trailing Arm Bushing

1.  All 88-00 Civic models and 94-01 Integra models used the same size.

2.  The 90-93 Integra used a slightly larger diameter RTA bushing (why, Honda?).  IIRC, the DA's RTA bushing was something like 2mm larger in diameter.

Rear Compensator Arm Bushing (the one that adjusts rear toe)

1.  All 88-00 Civic models and all 90-01 Integra models used the same size.  Yup, awesome.

Rear Upper Control Arm Inner Bushings

1.  Again, all 88-00 Civic models and all 90-01 Integra models used the same size.

Rear Upper Control Arm Outer Bushings

1.  All 88-00 Civic models and all 90-01 Integra models used the same size.  We're on a roll.

Rear Lower Control Arm Inner/Outer Bushings

1.  All 88-91 Civic and 90-93 Integra models use the same size.  Wagon, who knows.

2.  All 92-95 Civic / Del Sol models use the same size except for Si models (including Del Sol).

3.  All 94-01 Integra models (except the Type R), as well as 92-95 Civic / Del Sol Si, use the same size.

4.  All 96-98 ITR's use the same size.  PIC does not make an ITR-specific HRB kit.

5.  All 96-00 Civic models use the same size.

Rear Lower Control Arm Shock Mount Bushing

1.  All 88-95 Civic models and 94-01 Integra models used the same size.

2.  All 96-00 Civic models use the same size.  The bushing is 10mm narrower than the other Civic / Integra models' bushings in length of the center sleeve (to which the rear shock fork mounts, through which the shock bolt passes).
